Pole position was taken by Pascal Wehrlein after a thrilling head-to-head with Stoffel Vandoorne. In the end however, it was the Jaguar team that put on an amazing show during the race. Mitch Evans crossed the line first, with Jaguar teammate Nick Cassidy behind, claiming the first ever 1–2 team finish in the history of the Monaco E prix. The success of the Jaguar team was largely down to great teamwork between the two drivers, with race winner Evans giving his teammate a big shoutout after the race. Vandoorne claimed third place, returning back to the podium for the first time since joining the DS Penske squad. Wehrlein’s P5 allows the German to lead the championship going to the next round in Berlin, but with a decreasing lead over the competitors.

Formula E and the FIA, prior to the race, unveiled the newest innovation in electric car racing, with David Coulthard taking the Gen3 Evo race car for a spin on the iconic streets of Monaco. While Coulthard commented on the incredible acceleration, with the car going to 95 km/h in less than 1.82 seconds, the aggressive front wing and overall aerodynamics were noticeable when watching the car go around the track.
